Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This privacy policy applies to the website gravitide.app and the Android app "Gravitide: Ignition". It explains which personal data are processed, for what purpose and on what legal basis. A German version is available at https://gravitide.app/datenschutz (and in the app on devices set to German); if the two differ, the German version prevails.
In short
- The app needs no account and has no server of its own. Your progress and settings stay on your device.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Personalised ads are only shown if you agree in the consent dialog. You can change your choice at any time in the app.
- The website sets no cookies, does not track visitors and loads nothing from third-party servers. It is delivered through Cloudflare.
- If you write to us, we only use your message to reply to you.

Website gravitide.app
Hosting and delivery through Cloudflare
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (service "Cloudflare Pages"). Cloudflare delivers the site through a worldwide network of servers (content delivery network) and protects it against attacks.
When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary access data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the referring page. Cloudflare needs these data to deliver the site, secure the connection and prevent abuse. We do not analyse these access data ourselves and keep no logs of our own. How long Cloudflare keeps them is set out in Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/policies/privacy/
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (see "Transfers to the USA").
All connections are encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services and embeds no content from third parties (no third-party fonts, videos, maps or social media buttons).
Contact by email
If you write to support@gravitide.app, we process your email address, your name (if given), the content of your message and the technical details of the email in order to answer your request.
The address is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., address above) to a mailbox at Google Gmail (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; affiliated company Google LLC, USA). Cloudflare and Google process the emails for this purpose, including to detect spam. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete messages once the request has been dealt with, unless we are legally required to keep them.
Please note: emails are usually encrypted in transit, but they are not end-to-end encrypted on the servers involved.
In the test version of the app you can collect feedback and send it yourself by email. The email contains your notes, pictures of the game screen, and game and device data, e.g. version, device, Android version, time, level, game state within the level (phase, position of the tips), play time, tries and error messages. Until you send the email yourself, the entries stay on your device (see "Progress and settings stay on your device").
App "Gravitide: Ignition"
Download through Google Play
You download the app through Google Play, a service of Google Ireland Limited (address above). Google itself is responsible for the download and for your Google account; Google's privacy policy applies. From Google Play we only receive aggregated statistics (for example the number of installs) and technical crash reports without names or accounts. We use them to find bugs and improve the app (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Progress and settings stay on your device
The app stores your progress (solved levels, stars, attempts per level), your settings (for example sound) and whether you have confirmed the note about ads only on your device. These data are not transmitted to us. In the test version, the feedback entries are added (notes, game and device data, and pictures of the game screen); they stay on your device until you send them yourself by email or delete them in the app. If you have turned on backup in Android, Android saves them with your other app data in your Google account and restores them on a new device; Google is responsible for that. Of the feedback entries, the notes and data can end up in this backup like your progress, the pictures cannot. There is no account and no sign-in. Storing them is strictly necessary for the game (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). You can delete them by clearing the app's data in the Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
The app uses no analytics or crash reporting services of its own. It only needs the internet for ads; for this it asks Google at start-up whether consent is required in your country (your IP address is transmitted).
Ads with Google AdMob
The app shows ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited (address above). Google processes the data for ads under its own terms and on its own responsibility. There are two kinds:
- Optional ads: after several failed attempts you can watch an ad to see the solution of a level.
- Ads between levels: occasionally an ad appears between two levels.
So that ads can be shown, billed and protected against fraud, Google processes, among other things: your device's advertising ID (Android Advertising ID), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, information about the device, operating system and app, and your interaction with the ad (for example viewing, tapping).
Consent: Before the app loads an ad for the first time, it shows Google's consent dialog (User Messaging Platform) where this is required in your country (for example in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland). There you decide whether Google may store or read information on your device and tailor ads to you. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Your decision is stored on your device. You are not obliged to consent; without consent the app works the same, you only see non-personalised ads.
Without consent, Google only shows non-personalised or limited ads. Google still processes the data needed for delivery, frequency capping, billing and fraud prevention; to that extent the legal basis is our legitimate interest in financing the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Withdrawal: You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Privacy choices" button on the app's star map (it appears where the consent dialog is required). You can also reset or delete the advertising ID in the Android settings.

Children
The app is not specifically directed at children.
Transfers to the USA
Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are based in the USA. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so an adequacy decision of the European Commission covers these transfers (Art. 45 GDPR). Where applicable, the providers additionally use the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. List of certified companies: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/
Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose, or as long as statutory retention obligations require (for example tax rules for business correspondence). Data on your device stay there until you delete them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we process about you (Art. 15),
- rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16),
- erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18),
- data portability (Art. 20),
- withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)),
- object (Art. 21, see below).
Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, write to support@gravitide.app. As we store no data about you other than emails, for data held by Google or Cloudflare we can often only refer you to their services.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:
Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Alt-Moabit 59-61
10555 Berlin, Germany
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Changes
We update this privacy policy when the app, the website or the law changes. The current version applies; you find it in the app and at https://gravitide.app/privacy.
